CEO

Do you want to lead and develop the raw material supply in one of Dalarna's most established forestry companies?

Bergkvist Siljan Skog is now looking for a CEO for its forestry company – a central role responsible for securing and developing the raw material flow to the group's sawmills. Here you have the opportunity to combine business, leadership, and strategic development in an organization with strong local anchoring and international ownership.

Why you should choose Bergkvist Siljan

This is a key role in a company with strong local anchoring and a long history. You have great opportunities to influence and develop a central function in the value chain. You do this in close collaboration with the group management and international owners in a business with short decision-making paths and clear business proximity. Welcome to a future-oriented industry where sustainability is at the center.

Bergkvist Siljan offers a collaborative culture focused on development and improvement, naturally with competitive terms.

About the assignment

As CEO of Bergkvist Siljan Skog, you have overall responsibility for the company's operations, with a focus on raw material procurement, business development, and leadership. You lead an organization of approximately 40 employees, the majority of whom work as timber buyers in a geographically dispersed operation.

The assignment involves ensuring a stable, efficient, and profitable flow of raw materials to the group's sawmills. The role is clearly business-driven and includes negotiations with both large forestry companies and private forest owners.

You are responsible for developing the business, strengthening market relations, and driving operations in line with the group's strategic direction.

Areas of responsibility

  • Overall responsibility for operations, results, and development
  • Ensure long-term raw material supply to the group's industries
  • Lead and develop a decentralized organization
  • Drive business and negotiations with suppliers and partners
  • Develop working methods, structure, and efficiency in the raw material flow
  • Create engagement and direction in the organization
  • Represent the company internally and externally.

Your profile

We are looking for a business-driven leader with the ability to combine a strategic perspective with operational execution. You preferably have a university education in forestry, economics, logistics, forest management, or similar. You have extensive experience in business, raw material flows, timber supply, logistics, or similar value chains. Good knowledge of contract law and labor law is desirable.

Experience in leadership in a larger or geographically dispersed organization and proven leadership skills in good times and bad, with a genuine interest in employee development.

You possess strategic thinking, are business-minded with very good negotiation skills. You are accustomed to driving change and development, are communicative, and have a relationship-building approach.

Good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing. Knowledge of FSC and PEFC is a plus.

As a person, you are a clear and trustworthy leader who creates engagement and direction. You thrive in a role where you get to take responsibility, make decisions, and drive issues forward – even when it requires endurance and courage. You have integrity, are confident in negotiations, and have the ability to handle complex and sometimes challenging situations.

The employment

The position as CEO is permanent and full-time, with the workplace in Insjön or Mora. Some travel in Dalarna and Hälsingland is included in the position. You report to the CEO of Bergkvist Siljan and have functional reporting to the group's Raw Material Manager. Start date is as soon as possible according to agreement.
